Bootleg Rascal are a Sydney-based band comprising of long-time collaborators  and friends  Carlos Lara  and Jimmy Young.  The group combine  an eclectic mix of hip hop, reggae, indie-rock, dub and electronica;  all while  simultaneously  delivering  a  cohesive  sound they make their own.   

  

Since their mid-2013 inception, Bootleg Rascal have released a slew of singles, an EP and  two  albums, all  of which were  warmly received  globally  by critics and fans  alike, receiving support from Spotify,  Apple Music, MTV, Rage, The Line of Best Fit (UK), Clash Magazine (UK)  and  added to high rotation on triple j.  

  

In 2019 - 2020, the band  will aim to undergo a period of exploration, as they transition into the new era of Booty. What won’t change is the light-hearted fun approach they’ve always had – it’s just time to turn up the party another notch, really.
