JOY. is a 20 year-old producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who crafts ethereal and introspective electronic-pop songs anchored by sultry, hypnotic vocals, incisive song writing and a keen focus on production.
JOY. wrote and produced her latest EP SIX in collaboration with Khaled Rohaim (Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Ty Dolla $ign). The EP includes triple J favourite Smoke Too Much which was the culmination of countless writing and recording sessions with a creative team comprised of Big Dream luminaries Dopamine, Manu Crooks, Anfa Rose, and Miracle. "We work really well as a collective together and they inspire me and push me creatively" She says. The track has accumulated over 8 Million streams to date and gained support from Zane Lowe on Beats 1.
An Inspired blend of formal training and raw instincts, JOY.'s intuition about a song goes beyond songwriting and makes her an incredibly thoughtful producer. "I was writing and arranging my own music, and consequently recording my own music as well, so that organically turned into production," she says of her introduction to the craft. JOY.'s production has also graced tracks of the likes of the previously mentioned artists Manu Crooks, Anfe Rose.
In 2018 JOY. hit the road with US Superstar Demi Lovato on her world tour. Lovato has praised JOY. calling her "my new favourite artist". The previous year, JOY. supported Kehlani on her sold out Australian Tour. The myriad of JOY.'s successes is a testament to her hard work, tenacity and true connection to fans.
