What do you do if your band spends five years growing from acclaimed indie artists into having its name up in lights? Well if you’re Birds Of Tokyo you burn it all down and you start all over again.

Grinspoon

Grinspoon is one of Australia’s most loved rock bands and they are back with their seventh studio album, twelve tracks to blow your mind and released 28 September.

Regurgitator

Formed in March 94... Quan Yeomans, Ben Ely & Martin Lee started a side project to the other bands they had at the time – Pangaea, Zooerastia, Brazilia respectively –

British India

British India emerged from the fertile underbelly of Melbourne’s independent music scene to take Australia by storm in July 2007 with their acclaimed debut album Guillotine. As their songs ‘Black & White Radio’, ‘Tie Up My hands’, ‘Run The Red Light’ and ‘Russian Roulette’ became arm-raising, air-punching anthems at venues and festivals across the country, British India developed a hard-earned reputation for their explosive live shows.

Ash Grunwald

Ash Grunwald is a leading Australian blues musician and Sunshine Coast favourite. He has built a strong reputation in Australia and internationally based on his live shows and festival performances. The BPMF welcomes this Troubador to the Main Stage in April.

Hermitude

Multi-instrumentalists, Luke Dubber (aka Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (aka Elgusto), have collaborated in bands since 1994, when they were aged 16 and 11, respectively. Their first functional band was called "Funk Injections" and included Stuart's sister, Aja Stuart, on bass.

The Black Seeds

Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, The Black Seeds epitomise NZ style with their fusion of dub, funk, afrobeat and soul. Formed in 1998 and having a variety of members over the years, The Black Seeds perform with vocals, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, bass, drums, bongos, keyboard and wood blocks. They have two double-platinum selling albums in New Zealand, and successful European album releases through the German-based Sonar Kollektiv label.

Dallas Frasca

Weʼre stoked to add some serious female oomph to the TBPMF lineup and who better than Dallas Frasca ??? we reckon nobody... Dallas is simply one of the hottest female rock acts in the country.

OKA

A celebration of all that it is to be alive and free in the world today, OKA is the coming together of manmade and earth elements. With rhythms based in minimal techno and hip hop, laced with roots, dub and world music, theirs is a sonic tapestry that sits astride and above the pretention of contemporary counterparts.

Kingswood

After touring Australia in their own right and with such acts as The Living End, British India and The Saints, numerous festival appearances such as Splendour In The Grass, Queenscliff Music Festival and Pyramid Rock, and releasing 3 killer singles "Yeah Go Die", "Medusa" and "She's My Baby", 2012 has been a massive year for KINGSWOOD.

Cheap Fakes

Brisbane based Cheap Fakes are a five piece band whose sound is not defined by styles or genres. Predominantly steeped in off beat guitars and catchy melodies, the band have been performing their fusion of funk, pop, ska, reggae and dance music to captivated audiences since 2009.

Chance Waters

After more than five years actively touring the country and releasing music under the moniker Phatchance, Sydney hip-hop artist Chance Waters has decided to lose the alias and return to his given name. With the changing of the guard now complete, Chance has his head down and his mind firmly focused on the road ahead.

Mr Cassidy

After a long hiatus from the music scene, a chance meeting while their husbands were jamming in Bryon Bay, saw Danni Carr (formally Sweet Painted Ladies) & Emilie Owen (formally Melbourne indie/rock band, Luxedo) hatch a plan to rekindle their own desire to play music & set about forming their own band, a conclusion was drawn, a comeback was imminent...Mr Cassidy was formed that day.

Bonjah

Bonjah was formed in 2006 in Tauranga New Zealand by Glenn Mossop, Regan Lethbridge, David Morgan, Dan Chisholm. Currently based out of Melbourne - BONJAH are renowned for for their constant touring and awesome live shows.

Dialectrix

Dialectrix is a revered and prolific Hip Hop lyricist hailing from Sydney Australia. Since releasing his first solo album 'Cycles of survival' in 2008
Dialectrix has toured nationally and received media exposer from Rage, MTV, Chanel V, NOVA, Triple J radio and T.V, and a slew of community radio stations nation wide.

Bobby Alu

Pacific roots and reggae grooves, Afro rhythms, infectious harmony, soul, pop and good vibes: Queensland’s world-class offering has taken the Aussie roots music scene by storm.

Sticky Fingers

The four piece Newtown misfits are mis-spending their youth while we watch. Since then the band have spent their time re-fining and re-defining their sound, a mega-hectic, psychedelic, reggae, as the colourful review above suggests, that’ll have you trading your flat screen for a ticket to ride, surrendering your dignity to your urges, throwing shapes around rooms with people you’ve never met.

Lyall Moloney

In March last year I set off on an adventure to Ethiopia with my younger sister Jade. I decided to accompany her as it was her first trip abroad and Ethiopia didn’t seem the safest destination to explore. Over there I recorded about 25 songs, I have collated them down to an album which will be released in November, followed by heavy touring. The live show involves a lot of real-time looping and psychedelic dreamtime harmony love.

AndyDub

Starting out in the world of bands gave AndyDub an appreciation for melody, song structure and the love of a good song, and after discovering the world of electronic music while living in the UK in the 90's he decided to blend these concepts with his new found love of rhythms. Its dance music........ but not as you know it.

The Green Room

The Green Room are a 4-piece band based on the Sunshine Coast who's sun-soaked reggae and rock grooves echo the laid back lifestyle of the coast. they are an exciting band with great local support, having supported Katchafire earlier in 2012.

pHilbo Bellgins

pHilbo Bellgins took up the wheels of steel in London to keep the party going when no one else was up to play, but it quickly became a fixation.

Khan

After working with previous groups, singer-songwriter Khan Harrison spent a number of years experimenting with his own material, looking for a fresh and more dynamic expression for his songs. The result is one of the most exciting progressive roots acts to come out of the Sunshine Coast.

Alys Longmate

This 16 year old singer/songwriter from the Sunshine Coast, Australia, has been described as ‘the darling new teenage indie superstar of 2012’.

Soula

Emerging from Sunshine Coast, and though only formed in September 2011, Soula are quickly becoming a reason to get out of the house and delve into the local music scene.
